Albacete's walking football team, in collaboration with the Albacete Balompié Foundation, provides an activity for cancer patients, improving their health and wellbeing. On February 4th, the walking football team of the Sampo family, with the support of the Albacete Balompié Foundation, will present their team to the public. Thanks to an agreement with the Albacete Balompié Foundation, the Albacete City Council and the coaches of the Albacete Genuine Foundation, Sampo has been carrying out this activity for its users for over a year, with weekly training sessions at the Feria Pavilion. During the two hours of weekly training, muscle mass, balance, coordination, physical resistance and a friendly atmosphere are improved, and a sense of friendship, socialization and mental wellbeing is created among cancer patients. Walking football is a modality of football created in England in 2007 to achieve active aging in older people. Its basic rules are that you cannot run, there can be no physical contact with the opponent, and the ball cannot be raised above the waist, all aimed at exercising physically without the risk of injury. On Wednesday, February 4th, a presentation match of the Walking-Football Fundación Albacete Balompié Sampo against the Fundación Albacete Genuine will take place at 5 pm at the Universitario Pavilion, with free admission.
